The bible has a central
theme which is God’s love for mankind. I asked a lot of people what the first
memory verse they learnt as kids even before they began to read the bible. For
most people the response was John 3:16 “for
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” And this
verse is one verse that pops in my head first whenever I'm asked to give memory
verses. I wondered why this verse was the first verse most folks knew, then I
heard this in my spirit ‘the first thing my child needs to know is how much I
love him/her.’ Then to really understand this love I also heard ‘personalise
this verse’. “For God so loved ME, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that if I believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
After doing this I felt like melting, what manner of love is this that the very
best of heaven was given to me. I cried because I was so touched, even before
we were born, although God knew we were going to be sinners He still gave up
his darling Son for us. That is why it is only the power of God’s love that
leads one to repentance. Above all, this love cannot be compared to any not even
to the love our parents give us.
Although our parents
love us, they still get angry at us, but God CANNOT and will NEVER be angry
with you, because the finished work of Jesus Christ has caused God to be
perpetually on your side forever. Rom5:8-9 “But
God commendeth his love towards us in that while we yet sinners Christ died for
us much more then, being now justified by his blood, WE SHALL BE SAVED FROM
WRATH THROUGH HIM”. Hallelujah! We've been saved from wrath through him
Christ, and God is faithful to what His Son did on the cross, we have been made
a people after God’s heart, we are his Beloved!
Psalm 23 is one portion
of scripture that describes the love of God. In that chapter you’ll see
something wonderful there. God does everything, that’s His kind of love,
nothing for man to do; He is our shepherd, He is our guide, He is our provider,
He is our comfort, He is the restoration for our souls and leads us in the
paths of righteousness. Now in vs 4 you’ll see something amazing. “yea though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou
art with me…” this is the only verse were man did something and man missed it
by walking through the valley of the shadow of death, but the good news is God
is still with man even in his sins. It is the love of God that leads one to
repentance. The moment a sinner embraces God’s love, sin loses its grip.
You my friend are God’s
beloved, always walk in that consciousness, your waking up thought should be
God loves me dearly. As you become conscious of who you are you begin to exhibit
the love nature with no effort on your part, because love is your nature.
In the next post, the
Holy Spirit will guide us to understanding how the power of God’s love can help
protect and maintain relationships and also help live a victorious life.
God loves you dearly.
Dannie.
