Pray with Simplicity

Matthew 6:5-9
"And when you come before God, don't turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat?
"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.
"The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They're full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don't fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this:
Our Father in heaven,
Reveal who you are..."

In prayers when your focus shift from you(self) to God, your prayers become very effective.
So what or who is your focus in prayers? Is it you? How long or hard you pray? Is your focus on the formulas, philosophy or technique of men or is your focus on God?
When there's a shift from self to God in prayers you will see the grace of God, you will see the anointing working for you, therein lies the effectiveness of prayers.
Glory!!!
James 5:16-18
"Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].
Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months.
And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual]".
The focus here on God answering you is not on how well you performed in prayers but rather what God did for you in Christ to be righteous. So in essence for prayers to be effective it has to focus on Christ and draw from the finished works of Jesus not our performance.
And another very important thing I want you to note in James 5:16-18 about this kind of prayers is that one is praying for others not self. Vs 16 starts by saying confess to one another and pray for one another. So the rule or principle in prayer to pray earnest heartfelt continued prayers comes in play when praying for others.
I believe there's a revival of prayers in the body of Christ so let's learn to prayer in accordance to God's will.
